Terms of Use

LiveShowNet lets a performer put on a live show. They pay us for time on the platform; the show is free to watch. These terms are the agreement between you and us. They are written to be read, not to be impressive.

1. What LiveShowNet is

We sell performers time on a platform. They pay us for the time; we give them a camera, an audience, and a link. Shows are free to watch.

The show is the performer's. We do not produce it, select it, or vouch for it, and we are not a party to anything that passes between a performer and their audience.

2. You must be 18

You need to be at least 18 to put on a show. If you are under 18, do not use the site.

3. Performing: what you may and may not stream

You may only stream material you own or have written permission to perform. This is the single most important rule here, and breaking it is the fastest way to lose your account and your money.

That means, specifically, that you must not stream:

• a concert, festival, club night, theatre production, comedy set, film, sporting event or any other performance you are attending as an audience member;
• recorded music, film, or television you did not make — including as backing, as an interlude, or playing in the background;
• cover versions of songs you do not hold or have not licensed the performing rights to;
• anybody who has not agreed to appear.

Every show you create requires you to confirm that the material is yours or licensed to you. That confirmation is recorded with the show.

4. What is never allowed

• Sexual content, nudity, or anything involving a minor in any way.
• Violence, threats, harassment, or content that promotes hatred against people for who they are.
• Anything illegal where you are, or where your audience is.
• Taking money from anybody for a show you do not intend to perform.
• Impersonating another performer, or misrepresenting what a show is.

5. If you break these rules

We may end a show while it is running, cancel it before it starts, keep what you paid for the time, and close your account. We may do any of these without notice where a show is live and the breach is obvious — a show streaming somebody else's concert cannot wait for correspondence.

Time paid for a show that broke these rules is not refunded. If your audience paid you directly, that is between you and them, and we cannot return it on your behalf.

6. Copyright complaints and repeat infringers

If you hold rights in something being streamed without your permission, tell us through the report link on the show, or write to our designated agent below. Include what was streamed, which show, and how we can reach you. We act on reports quickly — while a show is live, that usually means ending it.

Repeat infringers lose their account. Two upheld copyright complaints against a performer and we close it permanently, keep any money owed for the shows in question, and refund those audiences. There is no third chance, and this applies regardless of how well the shows were selling.

7. What you pay us, and when

• You pay for the time, and the price is shown before you commit to anything. It is set by us and can change, including for announced periods when it is cheaper or free. Whatever is displayed when you create a show is what you pay for it — a later change never reaches back to something already bought.
• Shows run to a limit of three hours.
• Your time starts when you actually go live, not at the time you scheduled. A show you never start costs you nothing, so there is nothing to refund when your internet fails or you change your mind.
• The show stops when the time runs out. You are warned as it approaches and you can buy more while you are on air, at the same rate.
• We sometimes make the platform free for a period, and announce it. Nothing is owed by anybody who created a show during one of those.
• If our own service fails and your show cannot happen, tell us and we will put the time back. If we end your show for breaking these terms, we will not.

8. What your audience pays you is your business

LiveShowNet does not handle money between a performer and their audience. We charge the performer for using the platform, and nothing else. We take no share of anything you receive, we do not process it, and we never hold it.

Every paid show gets a numeric code. How you use it is up to you: give it away and the show is free, or ask your audience for whatever you like first and send the code to the people who pay. You can also let named mobile numbers in without a code.

You tell your audience how to pay you, in your own words, in your own box. We suggest nothing and endorse nothing. That arrangement is entirely between you and them: we do not vouch for it, guarantee it, or step in when it goes wrong, and we cannot recover money sent directly between two people.

Viewers: anything you send a performer outside LiveShowNet is at your own risk and has none of the protection a card payment carries. If somebody asks you to pay them for a show that then does not happen, tell us with the report link — we can stop them using the platform, though we cannot get your money back.

Supporting LiveShowNet itself is optional, goes to us rather than to any performer, and buys nothing. It is a gift, and it is refundable on request within 30 days.

9. Nothing is recorded

We do not record shows and we do not keep video. When a show ends, the video is gone. This is deliberate. It also means that if something goes wrong during a show, there is nothing to review afterwards.

10. What we do not promise

Live video depends on your connection, your audience's connections, and services we do not control. We cannot promise a show will not stutter, drop, or fail. If our side of it fails and a show cannot happen, the audience is refunded — that is the remedy, and our total liability to you is limited to the money that passed through that show.

11. Ending it

You may stop using LiveShowNet at any time. Ask us and we will delete your account and what we hold about you. We may end your access if you break these terms, or if we stop running the service — in which case we will refund time that has been paid for and not used.

12. Changes

If we change these terms we will change the date at the top. If a change matters — the fee, refunds, what is allowed — we will say so on the site rather than hope you notice.
